Thanksgiving Week

There’s plenty to do during the week of Thanksgiving at the Glenview Park District. Whether you want to spend family time together, get in a quick workout, take a hike, keep the kids from getting bored or enjoy a parents night out while we keep them active, you can count on us! Here’s a round-up of activities for your enjoyment next week.

Burn off some extra energy (or your turkey dinner)! No reservation needed. Masks must be worn inside Park Center and while playing.
Daily Fee R/NR per person: $6/$8; or use your Open Gym Pass. Free for Park Center Health and Fitness Members (at age-appropriate times).

Let us help beat your kids’ stay-at-home boredom with 2.5 hours of instructor-led playtime, crafts and open gym sports. Sign up for one or both days; we will have different crafts and activities for each day! Ages 4-6 & 7-12.

Immerse yourself in the magic of the full moon as we explore the trails after hours followed by songs, stories, s’mores, and popcorn by a campfire.

Sunday, 11/21 • 9-11 am
Make a difference in the environment! Work side by side with The Grove’s restoration team and learn how to identify and remove non-native and invasive plants.

tipi talk

Sunday, 11/21 • 11 am-12 pm
Visit The Grove’s Native American Indian Village and learn how Woodland and Plaines Indian Tribes used to live. Story time, music, and cultural craft in the longhouse included.

Saturday, 11/27 • 10:45 am
Experience a new kind of guided tour of The Grove grounds and historical buildings. This is a relatively easy hike, accessible to a wide range of walkers and a great way to learn about and appreciate the flora and fauna of Illinois and the history of The Grove.
