The mission of The East Wing Senior Center is to enhance the lives of seniors in our community through friendship, knowledge and recreation. The East Wing offers many opportunities for seniors to be active and intellectually stimulated by developing and nurturing meaningful relationships and participating in activities and outings – all in the company of neighbors. Our handicapped accessible Senior Center welcomes adults 55 years and older.

Health and Education Series
Sponsored by The East Wing, North Shore Senior Center and NorthShore University Health Systems, educational and social service programs are presented at Park Center on predetermined Wednesdays.
Discussion Programs
The East Wing offers seniors an opportunity to participate in the following discussion programs: Talking Points, a co-ed conversation, and Men’s Round Table, a men’s discussion group.
Investment Club for Men and Women
Interested in learning more about stocks? Stocks are researched, purchased and sold. Meets once a month on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m.
Starlite Singers
Our chorus has expanded its repertoire to include two and three part harmonies and has appeared in dozens of programs, performing for church groups, senior centers, etc.
Fellowship Lunches
Many of our local churches co-sponsor luncheons and entertainment a few times a year at the East Wing. Dates and fees are located in the East Wing Newsletter. Registration required.
Card and Game Playing
Mah Jong, Bridge, Canasta, Dominoes, Rummikub and Scrabble are played on different days each week. See the schedule in the newsletter for days and times.
Camera Club
Join a presentation once a month on Monday afternoons to see beautiful photographs from around the world. Some photos taken by members and others professionally. Opportunities to share your photos happens several times a year.
Day Trips
The East Wing hosts a series of day trips in and around the Chicago area. Fees include the cost of bus transportation, food and entry fees. Pre-registration is required.
Craft Room
This lovely group of ladies also does charity work for the Cook County Sheriff’s department, the Linus program and various hospitals. Everyone is welcome. If you knit, crochet, can stuff a teddy bear or sew on a button, come join us. No special talent is required.
Woodcarving
Meet in the craft room in the Senior Center for woodcarving. Instruction available.
Music Appreciation
Every month, learn about a new composer and discuss their music.
Fine Art Appreciation
See and hear about beautiful artwork created by artists over the centuries.

Joining the The East Wing gives you access to a wide range of programs and activities that are only available to members. Membership is open to seniors 55 years or older, resident or nonresident.
Residents of the Glenview Park District pay an annual membership fee (May-April) and nonresidents pay a slightly higher fee.

*Anyone who is 80 or older and has been a member of the Center for more than 10 consecutive years qualifies for a Gold Star membership. East Wing memberships may be purchased at the Glenview Senior Center Information Desk, 2400 Chestnut Ave., M-Th from 9 am-4 pm, Friday 9am-1pm. Checks, cash and credit cards accepted.
