In 1979, the Allstate Corporation deeded a five acre parcel to the Glenview Park District in connection with their residential development. The planning of this park was initiated with the residents during 1980 and concluded with the opening of Indian Ridge Park (5 acres) in 1982.
In December 1981, a $500,000 bond issue was sold. Part of this money provided funding for construction of Indian Ridge Park.
